
The Sanding & Sealing Process
Procedures for the Sanding and Sealing of Wooden Floors
| 1. Punch down all nails below surface of floor to be sanded. 2. Fix down any loose boards where possible. 3. Sand boards flat using grit paper "24" through to "80" depending on surface. 4. Resin bond any damaged boards or end joins. |
5. Apply "1" coat of base sealer. 6. Apply "2" coats of lacquer. 7. Sand down all floors with "150" sand Screens. 8. Apply "3" coat of lacquer to finish. |
Restoration of Floor

1. Above is an original floor, which has just deteriorated through general wear and tear. |
2. Above the floor has now been sanded at 7 degrees to flatten out the boards with coarse-to-medium-grade sandpaper. |

3. Next the floor has now been sanded with medium grade for finishing. |
4. Finally the floor has been finished with one sealer and three top coats of lacquer. |
